With the commissioning of Yamuna Expressway, “The drive between Noida and Agra is never going to be the same again” as the 165 km long express corridor drastically reduces the travel time, making it the fastest mode of transport between these two cities, even compared to air travel (considering airport transfers & formalities).

» Jaypee Infratech Limited

Jaypee Infratech Limited (JIL) was incorporated on April 5, 2007 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop, operate and maintain the 165 km long 6-lane Access-Controlled Yamuna Expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh connecting Noida and Agra. The Expressway was awarded on BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority (YEIDA), to be executed with full responsibility for financing, land acquisition, design, construction, and operation & Maintenance. The construction of the Yamuna Expressway was carried out by Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., the flagship company of the Jaypee Group, setting a benchmark of sorts by completing the major works well before the schedule.
The Yamuna Expressway is located entirely in the State of Uttar Pradesh, with its first 41 kilometres being
located in District Gautam Budh Nagar, passing Noida, Dankaur, Mirzapur and Jewar, followed by 18
kilometres in District Aligarh, passing Tappal. The following 88.5 kilometres are located in District

About Greater Noida Yamuna Expressway City Noida

  History of greater noida
Ahmedabad History
In the early 1980s the Government of India realized that the rapid rate at which Delhi was expanding would result in chaos. So they planned to develop residential and industrial areas around the capital to reduce the burden of rapid development on the capital. The two areas which were developed were Gurgaon(across the border with Haryana) and Noida (across the border with Uttar Pradesh).
As a planned expansion, Noida's infrastructure and utilities was carefully laid out. However, the 90s saw huge growth in the Indian economy, and migration to cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai exceeded planning estimates. Noida was developed to be able to accommodate population growth for 20–25 years. But, with the massive influx to Delhi, it was overloaded in just 15 years.
he Government of Uttar Pradesh then decided to incorporate the city of Greater Noida, as an extension to Noida, but with better planning incorporating the lessons learned from the Noida development. The idea was to create a world class city. The city was planned to be situated approximately 25 km from Noida. By including a railway station and an international airport, Greater Noida is intended to develop as an independent city. Initially, the city developed extremely rapidly but due to political and economic instability, the development slowed down appreciably. However, it has started to grow again, though at a more moderate pace.
NOIDA NEXT
Greater Noida
Greater Noida is a planned township. Roads are wide with service lanes for every major road. The sectors are named by letters of the Greek alphabet. All cabling and utilities are run underground. It is currently planned to be connected to Delhi through Delhi's metro system by 2016.

Major retail chains such as Tata Croma, More Retail, Reliance Fresh, Reliance Footprints, Lilliput kIDSWEAR etc. have set up business in Greater Noida. About Yamuna Expressway Greater Noida India

About Us

The Yamuna Expressway Project is conceived with the idea to not only reduce the travel time between New Delhi and Agra but also to open up avenue for Industrial and Urban development of the region and provide the base for convergence to tourism and other allied industries.

The Project Background

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has been working proactively to improve the connectivity of the National Capital Region to improve tourist attraction of Taj Mahal at Agra through the new 6 Lanes (extendable to 8 lanes) Access Controlled Expressway with brand name of Yamuna Expressway.
The Taj needs no introduction. Almost everyone who comes to India makes it a point to make a trip to the Taj. Presently Agra is about 210 km away from Delhi by road. A day visitor normally spends nine to ten traveling hours on a return trip between Delhi and Agra which leaves him with very less time in Agra to see the Taj and other places of historical importance. The concept of the Yamuna Expressway which was initially conceived with the idea of cutting down on this travel time proposes a 160 km Expressway between Greater Noida and Agra thus reducing the travel time considerably upto 100 minutes only.
For implementing the Yamuna Expressway Project and allied development in the region, GOUP constituted Taj Expressway Industrial Development Authority (TEA) vide its Notification No.697/77-4-2001-3(N)/2001 dated 24th April, 2001, under U.P.
